Sustainable Resource – Moso bamboo is one of the world’s fastest growing plants, up to a metre in a day. It grows very densely giving an excellent yield per acre compared to cotton and requires less water.
Carbon Friendly – Bamboo plantations reduce greenhouse gases by absorbing five times the amount of carbon dioxide, and producing 35% more oxygen, than an equivalent space of trees.
Organically Grown – Bamboo's inherent properties make it naturally bacteria and pest resistant negating the need for pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers. It grows rapidly, allowing regular harvesting in a shorter period and smaller spaces than other textiles.
Easy on Water – Bamboo requires minimal water; natural rain is sufficient unlike other textile crops, particularly cotton.
Soil Stability & Quality – Bamboo is cut, not uprooted, during harvesting, allowing it to regrow for regular harvesting without replanting, aiding soil stability. Bamboo benefits soil quality and helps prevent soil erosion. The root system of bamboo is extensive, holding the soil together, preventing erosion and retaining water.
